Vinfen’s Gateway Arts held an artists’ reception for their newest exhibition, Three Views, on May 10 at their studio in Brookline, MA. The exhibition showcased the work of three Gateway Arts artists- Pat Peter, Kathleen Wells, and Paul Stevenson– who process life and the world around them through their artwork. “Their individual perspectives result in visual expressions that are diverse and yet not completely unrelated. All three artists are experiencing a prolific period of art making. They are dedicated to their explorations through the medium of paint,” said Gateway Arts Art Director Stephen De Fronzo.
Many friends, family members, and Gateway community members joined the featured artists for the event.
“It was an intimate artists’ reception that really highlighted the work,” said Development Specialist Christine Nolan.
The artists had a wonderful time discussing their most recent works with guests at the reception.
“It’s very different showing such new work. The old work I was familiar with it, comfortable. This new work I’m still figuring out,” said Kathleen Wells, “It’s about transitions. It’s like the homeless and the Harvard kids, when they meet up and play chess. Those spaces in between where things can happen.”
Kathleen expanded upon this discussion in a blog post published on the Gateway Arts website. It can be found here.
The exhibit will remain open through June 2. You can view and purchase many of the dynamic pieces showcased in the exhibition on Gateway’s website.
