On February 7, Vinfen’s Plymouth Bay House hosted a Valentine’s Day dinner, Feel the Love for Plymouth Bay House, that celebrated recovery, positive partnerships, and wellness. Members and Vinfen staff, joined together to share Clubhouse experiences with family, friends, and the community.
The event started 4:00 p.m. with scrumptious refreshments and music. During this time, a silent auction commenced, and attendees bid on fun themed baskets of items donated from the Plymouth community. Baskets ranged from a movie night themed bundle, which included a cinema gift card, to a lively bowling adventure. Bids were placed throughout the evening by attendees and the winners were announced at the conclusion of the event.
Around 5:00 p.m. a pasta dinner was served along with an enjoyable dessert and coffee. A few Plymouth Bay House members shared their musical talents periodically throughout the evening and three other members embraced their community with stories of personal accomplishments, while being a part of Plymouth Bay House. Hannah, a person Vinfen serves, prepared her speech and shared her experiences with the audience. “I have to say, Hannah had a way with words that night. She brought the room to tears!” shared Plymouth Bay House Program Director Jaimee Provan. Hannah explained, “I was such a mess the night of the event. I was so afraid to speak. But I did it, and that was huge for me. I shared my story.” Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and were inspired by such powerful stories. “It was an amazing night! I would love to do this again, but not for a little while,” added Hannah.
All proceeds from the celebration, including ticket sales, went directly to Plymouth Bay House and their mission. Plymouth Bay focuses on the strengths of each individual, providing membership the opportunity to live, learn, and engage in meaningful work, while contributing their talents to the Plymouth Bay House community.
A very special thank you to Mutual Bank for select prize drawing items, Pastene Companies, Ltd. for the wonderful pasta dinner, Coca-Cola for donating beverages, St. Mary’s Parish Center for the welcoming venue, Main Street Sports Bar and Grill for a prize drawing basket, and Stop & Shop LLC for donated gift cards.
“I would like to send a very special thank you to all the members and staff who came together to help make this event a possibility. Plymouth Bay House has been supporting the Plymouth community and surrounding towns for almost 30 years and we recognize that this is not something we do alone. It is with our deepest gratitude that we recognize the generous support we have received from our community for the past three decades and all those to follow,” exclaimed Jaimee.
