Renovations and Caricatures at Gateway Arts

This past April, Vinfen’s Gateway Arts celebrated the redesign of their store and held a grand opening during ArtWeek, an annual community creative festival each spring in Brookline, MA.

During this time, Gateway presented Art for All: Works by Artists with Disabilities exhibition that was open through the beginning of May. This exhibit also included a unique opportunity to meet a Gateway artist. Artist Darryl Richards created personalized caricatures for attendees to purchase. “I am happy to be working hard for my customers,” he shared.

Attendees thoroughly enjoyed the opening. One Brookline resident and longtime Gateway supporter chimed in on how much she loved the renovations. “It feels like shopping on the Lower East Side!” she shared. Gateway Arts Marketing Specialist Justine Portmann Katz added that there was moderate traffic throughout the week with a steady flow of patrons exploring the new store. “We had significant sales, and the enthusiasm for the redesign had an energetic presence!”

Interested in seeing the renovations? The Gateway Store is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.

Don’t forget to see Gateway’s current spring exhibition, Staff Picks, which is open until June 29. This exhibit features artwork on display chosen by Gateway Arts Staff  to showcase the broad diversity of styles, mediums, and subject matter in Gateway artists’ work.
