Clubhouses Come Together for a Cruise

Vinfen’s Point After Club and Haverhill Clubhouse joined together for a gathering on the high seas with music, delicious food, and fun on a Boston Harbor Cruise. It was an afternoon full of laughter, community, and friendship.

The overcast skies outside did nothing to dampen the enthusiastic spirits of the people we serve, staff, and crew members aboard the M/V Massachusetts. A lunch spread of prepared sandwiches, cookies, and other refreshments were served to members. Friends relaxed together on the cruise ship’s booths and sang along to lively tunes with Point After Club Program Director Tom Coppinger.

Tom’s energy was infectious as he sang tunes alongside Clubhouse members. These tunes included upbeat melodies and Boston Red Sox classic Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. Club members and staff played guitars, drums, and maracas with gusto. Even when the seas became a bit rough, everyone was all smiles as they enjoyed lively conversation. Tom also pointed out notable sites in Boston along the way, including the Constitution Inn and the Zakim Bridge.

Katie, a Club staff member expressed, “It was just relaxing and nice getting to see people we haven’t seen for a while due to them being from the Point After Club or moving to the Point After Club from Haverhill.” Another member Mary shared, “It was great having both Clubhouses together, and everybody getting along and having a good time.”

As the Harbor Cruise came to an end, members and staff were sad to say goodbye. Everyone loved the event and being out on the water.
