As we enter the ninth month of the pandemic, Vinfen sincerely hopes you and your loved ones remain healthy and safe.
Vinfen consistently remains dedicated to safeguarding our staff and the people we serve. We continue to follow the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Massachusetts and Connecticut Departments of Public Health and are in regular contact with our state regulatory and funding partners.
Because Vinfen is an essential services provider, it is our job to provide constant and effective supports to the people we serve, families, and our staff, especially as cases of COVID-19 continue to increase. The good news is that the COVID-19 vaccine has started to become available, and we are working with the state to determine how and when all of our staff will be eligible to receive the vaccination. It is essential that our frontline staff get early access to the vaccine as it serves as a critical step in stopping the spread of the virus. We are also advocating for the people we serve to receive the vaccination early, as they are some of the state’s most vulnerable citizens.
We urge you to do your part by getting vaccinated when it becomes available and advocating for your family members and friends to do the same.
We also encourage you to join The Caring Force and lobby for increased wages for those who take care of our loved ones. Frontline human services workers are heroes and they deserve a fair living wage.
Finally, as we celebrate the holiday season, we must all find new and safe ways to honor and embrace our traditions. It is essential to treat the holidays differently and consider the health and safety of everyone around us.
Please remember the following:
- Stay home. Stay safe. – postpone or avoid any non-essential travel during the holidays
- Limit gatherings to those of your immediate household and follow safety protocols
- If you feel sick, stay home, call your PCP, and GET TESTED!
Vinfen wishes you and your family an abundance of health and happiness. Please trust that the new year will bring us all more peace.
Stay home, stay safe, and happy holidays.
