This spring, Vinfen was pleased to have several opportunities to showcase the exceptional work done at our various programs across the state to legislators and other distinguished guests.
In May, we had a great visit at the Plymouth Bay House với State Rep. Kathy LaNatra, State Rep. Michelle Badger, and staff from Senator Dylan Fernandes‘ office. We appreciate all these elected officials stopping by for a program tour, and for their continued advocacy for our communities!
On Friday, May 30, State Senator Ed Kennedy attended an open house at Vinfen’s newest facility in Lowell. The residence on Andover Street opened in March andserves individuals supported through the Department of Mental Health (DMH) as they work toward a path of independent living while managing long-term mental health challenges. The program includes 19 studio apartments, two of which are fully accessible to people with disabilities.
And in June, State Senator Pavel Payano visited YouForward in Lawrence, where he spent part of his day with our youth members. Even more special, he joined DJ Lus, director of Change The Play, a program that YouForward is currently offering, as the guest of a podcast conducted by some of our young adults. The Senator’s aide also extended an invitation to bring a group of young adults to the State House for a tour in the near future.
The visit was an awesome experience for everyone involved, and we thank Senator Payano for his commitment to the well-being of our young community members and his enthusiasm around their work with Change the Play.
