VINFEN AWARDED ADDITIONAL $2 MILLION GRANT FROM SAMHSA

Vinfen is proud to announce that the organization has been awarded a $2 million grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC) Grant Program, which will expand our behavioral health services in Lowell, MA.

Back in July, Vinfen was awarded a $4 Million Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Expansion Grant from SAMHSA. This new grant will enable Vinfen to expand urgent mental health outpatient and crisis intervention services, improve capacity and uptake of video-based telehealth services for people receiving services, and, in partnership with UTEC, Inc. (originally known as United Teen Equality Center), create specialized outpatient mental health and case management services for justice involved young adults.

Vice President of Vinfen’s Behavioral Health Division Lauren Falls, LICSW, shared, “It is really exciting to think about what this grant will be able to do to further Vinfen’s support within the Lowell Community and amongst the individuals and families that are looking for much needed resources and services.”

President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bruce L. Bird added, “We are very pleased to have this additional federal award, which will advance Vinfen’s efforts to continue building behavioral health services in Lowell. Working with our partners, including Lowell General Hospital, Lowell House Addiction Treatment and Recovery, UTEC, Inc., and others, we hope to bridge gaps in services, which will be sustainable during the expected system reforms being enacted by MassHealth in the coming year.”

Vinfen looks forward to furthering the expansion of services and strengthening the continuum of care for communities in need. For more information on Vinfen’s behavioral health services, visit: https://vinfen.org/behavioral-health/behavioral-health-clinics/
