Vinfen Happenings

Scenes of Summer

The kids are back to school, the leaves are turning, and fall is officially here. But before we say goodbye to summer, we’re taking one last look back at some of the fun, celebrations, and memorable moments that made up the Summer of 2026 at Vinfen.

ADA Celebration
Vinfen staff and Metro Boston self-advocates proudly joined Mayor Michelle Wu, Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn, and community partners for Boston’s ADA Day celebration at Copley Square Park on July 15. Hosted by the Boston Mayor’s Commission for Persons with Disabilities, the event celebrated the anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the continued commitment to disability rights, access, and inclusion.

ACCS Cambridge/Somerville Summer Bash
Staff and individuals served through our Cambridge and Somerville Adult Community Clinical Services came together at Innerbelt Road for a summer bash filled with food, fun, and plenty of sunshine.

Ice Cream Truck Day
Remember the joy you felt as a kid when the ice cream truck came rolling through your neighborhood? Vinfen staff got to relive that feeling when ice cream trucks stopped by program locations across Massachusetts, loaded with everyone’s favorite frozen treats!

Camping Out
In the waning days of summer, a beloved tradition was renewed, as Vinfen’s clubhouses embarked on their annual Cape Cod Campout. Staff and club members headed down to Camp Lyndon in Sandwich for a well-deserved vacation, where they spent the days engaged in games, sports, and other activities, and evenings gathered around the campfire.
