VINFEN AWARDED $4 MILLION GRANT FROM SAMHSA

As a leading provider of community-based services for people with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges across Massachusetts and Connecticut, Vinfen has been awarded a $4 million Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Expansion Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

With a long-standing history of providing equitable and person-centered behavioral health services for adults, youth, and young adults in the greater Lowell area, Vinfen’s Lowell Clinic currently serves 650 people. Vinfen will use this grant to continue to increase access and availability to essential services and improve quality of care to people with mental health conditions and/or substance use challenges.

Vice President of Vinfen’s Behavioral Health Division Lauren Falls, LICSW, shared, “Our aim is to address the unique needs of the Lowell community, and this award will help us achieve that goal by enabling us to expand and deepen the services we can offer to individuals and families.”

President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bruce L. Bird added, “We are thrilled to have this award. The grant will directly support Vinfen’s efforts working with other key Lowell behavioral health providers, including Lowell General Hospital, Lowell Community Health Center, Lowell House Addiction Treatment and Recovery, and others to develop new services that will fill in some of the gaps in behavioral healthcare in the Greater Lowell Area.”

With behavioral health outpatient clinics already established in Lawrence and Lowell, Vinfen looks forward to continuing to lead the way in providing innovative behavioral health services to people in need and partnering with providers across the state to expand access to quality healthcare.
