Vinfen believes stable housing is an important part of good health and mental health recovery. We are on the front lines: each year, we help hundreds of people obtain stable housing. Each of our community-based integrated mental health teams includes a housing coordinator who supports people with housing applications, housing search, readiness assessment, tenancy education and move preparations. Our staff are experts in the complicated world of housing subsidies, leases, rental assistance, and emergency shelters.
As a Vinfen employee working in housing and homeless services, you will learn about the shelter system, how to conduct a housing assessment, as well as the state and community resources available to help people with housing.

TYPES OF HOUSING AND HOMELESS SERVICE POSITIONS AT VINFEN:
The Housing Coordinator (ACCS) supports people with mental health conditions in identifying, accessing, and maintaining suitable housing. The housing coordinator will develop relationships with landlords, and housing authorities; and will work with each person to identify housing needs and preferences. The coordinator will work with people in a variety of settings: in shelters, on the street, in temporary housing/respite or group homes. Positions available in Boston, Lawrence, Lowell, Somerville, Plymouth and Cape Cod.
The housing support specialist works with people who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of losing their housing to identify housing needs and preferences and helps them access or maintain housing. Positions available in Boston, Somerville and Lowell.
The team leader provides leadership and oversight of all clinical and administrative functions of the homeless outreach team. The team leader coordinates outreach, assessment, service planning, referrals and community linkages for people with histories of homelessness and mental health conditions. Position available on Cape Cod.
Safe Haven homes provide housing with support services for people who have experienced long-term homelessness. The residential counselors engage residents to work on their self-defined needs for income/benefits, finding permanent housing, addressing health issues, and building social support.
The leasing and subsidy specialist manages residential leases under contract by Vinfen to ensure compliance with housing subsidy program requirements. The specialist also provides operations staff with training and technical assistance on federal and state housing subsidy programs.
The facilities manager plans, directs and coordinates the activities associated with the operation and maintenance of all Vinfen properties (including buildings and grounds). This position works with a staff of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled trade personnel to enhance the value and appearance of residential sites.
