Vinfen is pleased to welcome Melissa Shannon as our new vice president of policy and strategy.

Melissa brings more than 25 years of experience shaping health care and human services policy at the state and federal levels. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation as a collaborative and effective leader, working to expand access to care, strengthen public health programs, and advance policies that improve the lives of individuals and families.

Most recently, Melissa served as vice president for government advocacy at Boston Medical Center Health System, where she led the organization’s legislative and regulatory agenda, securing significant new funding for patient care while advancing policies related to Medicaid, behavioral health, substance use disorders, prescription drug access, and health equity. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles with Commonwealth Care Alliance, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, Health Care For All, and the Massachusetts State Senate, building extensive expertise in public policy, strategic partnerships, and systems change that improve health and human services.

In her new role at Vinfen, Melissa will help shape our strategic priorities and public policy agenda, working across the organization to advance initiatives that strengthen services, improve systems of care, and expand opportunities for the individuals and families we serve. Her expertise and collaborative leadership will help position Vinfen to navigate an evolving health and human services landscape while continuing to drive meaningful impact.
